Congratulations to the new World Champions!
No matter how you spell it, this looks like a terrific game. Obviously a member of the mancala category, but this one is from south-central Asia - Kazakhstan, to be exact.
TogysKumalak, Tigusqumulaq, Tugys Komulak, or even Tugys Korgul... the competition was fierce between over 100 players from 14 different nations!
The basics are the same as other mancala-style games: Take up beads and sow them around the board, and stuff happens when the last bead is sown.
There are many variations built upon that basic mechanism.
