How to Play Masala Lab: Game 1 (Tiffin)
This is a how-to-play video of the boardgame "Masala Lab" by XOtoXO Games.
Masala Lab is a family boardgame about Indian food for 2-4 players, based on the best-selling book of the same name, by author Krish Ashok. Masala Lab has a total of three games.
This video covers the first game - called "Tiffin". Masala Lab comes in two sizes - Standard & Mini, and this game can be played with either box.
In this game, you collect Items such as grains, vegetables and spices to make Prep such as curries and snacks. You have to follow a particular sequence (a recipe) while you make your Prep. Players compete to score the highest while collecting Prep cards.
If you're familiar with the classical card game of Rummy, you will notice some similarities here, along with some additional rules. For boardgame enthusiasts, the main mechanic in this game is set collection.
This is a card game that requires 2 decks of cards - Deck 1 (Prep) and Deck 2 (Items) that are included in both Masala Lab standard & mini boxes. Game play lasts about 30 minutes.
